Attaining the Highest Form of Love

Reviving Islam in My Life

Attaining the Highest Form of Love

Muhammad (SAW) said:

“Souls are arrayed soldiers, one soul meeting the other soul in the horizon becomes near.”

  • Allah puts love in a person, and makes it so that they are recognised for it by another.
  • Muhabbah is a ni’mah; a pureness that comes from Allah and that must be acknowledged.
  • It is an important recognition, for Shaytan wants the believer to be bitter and feel encumbered.

Muhammad (SAW) said:

“When a believer enters an assembly of one hundred hypocrites and only one believer, he will sit near the believer. If a hypocrite enters an assembly of one hundred believers and of one hypocrite he will sit near the hypocrite.”

  • The believer attracts those of a similar nature to them.
  • Similarly, the nature of those we love are a reflection of our own nature.
  • When one has so much love and kindness to offer others, they resonate with people who feel the same way.

The highest state of love is removing oneself from the equation of loving. This is a love for the sake of Allah.

  • This strong love for Allah spreads to everything; loving for Allah encompasses loving everything associated with Allah.
  • To build this love, one has to associate every joy, happiness, and sadness in their life with Allah.
  • To achieve this deep form of love, the believer should not focus on the actions of people and the impact it has on their life. The focus should be on the rule and the words of Allah.
